2012 Global Spa and Wellness Summit student challenge was quite a hit with Summit delegates and industry press.  We’ve included links below to the “Spa of the Future” PowerPoint presentations from each team (University of Denver, Cornell, Penn State and University of Houston) as well as some recent media coverage. We’ve also included the first few paragraphs from the official GSWS press release which went out last week. These “Spas of the Future” were all – in their own way – creative, innovative and certainly impressive!

Official GSWS Press Release

New York, NY– June 26, 2012 – The Global Spa & Wellness Summit (GSWS), the premier annual event for spa and wellness industry leaders, today announced the winners of its fourth annual “Spa of the Future” Student Challenge Competition. Top honors went to the University of Denver for its creative “Power Spa” for teen girls, while Cornell University, the University of Houston and Penn State University received second and third place awards respectively.

 

The 2012 Summit, with its theme “Innovation through Imagination,” was held in collaboration with The Aspen Institute, and the student teams presented their designs to hundreds of industry executives gathered at the prestigious think-tank this June. Previous Challenge winners include Paris’ Institute de Management Hotelier International (2009), the University of Southern California (2010) and Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2011).
