The beginning of a New Year seems like a perfect time to reflect on the idea of “A Defining Moment,” which is the theme for the 2013 Global Spa & Wellness Summit, taking place in New Delhi, India, October 5-7. To help set the stage, consider these synonyms for a “defining moment” — critical juncture, pivotal point, crossroads, zero hour, turning point, decisive moment, high noon, nexus, or turn of the tide.
Here are eight “Defining Moment” forums that will be held at the 2013 GSWS. Each will take place on Saturday, October 5, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
As you review this list, please reflect on this question, “What can we accomplish together, that none of us can accomplish on our own?” That will be the focus of the forum for those who are there in person as well as for those who might participate in the discussion virtually.
• Destination Spa Forum
• Green Spa Forum
• Hydrothermal and Manufacturers Forum
• Spa Education Forum
• Spa Retail Forum
• Standards and Practices Forum
• Ancient Healing Traditions Forum
• Wellness Tourism Forum Congress
Past Summits have encouraged these gatherings of like-minded industry leaders, sometimes formally and sometimes more casually. The outcome has been popular and effective, so this year we are making the forums a key part of the Summit. All delegates are invited to participate in whichever one(s) they choose. A spokesperson for each of the forums will address the entire Summit delegation the following day, making the possibility of a defining moment a reality. If you feel called to be a leader or organizer of one of the forums, please let us know. And stay tuned for more information in the coming months!
Enjoy your weekend,
The GSWS Team

Hello GSWS,
I am interested in attending the GSWS this year and am also interested in the forum topic Spa Education.
Here are some writing and speaking pieces I have done for the spa industry in the last couple of years: http://thezengirl.com/services/speaking-writing/
One of my clients, Esthétique SPA International, is hosting this event in February. With Michael Tompkins and the founder of ESI Bernard Renaud, we curated this Pro-Education line-up, one of the best in the industry at the most affordable price (aiming to solve the #1 problem in the industry which is the lack of quality, affordable education). Check it out: http://spashowusa.com/speakers/
Just wanted to start the conversation and see how I may be of service.
Best wishes for a wonderful day, and thank for you all that you do.
Stacy
Alexandra,
I am an Associate Dean in the Business School of Humber College (Institute of Technology &Advanced Learning) and one of the programs that I am responsible for is Spa Managment. It is quite unique in that it combines both the practical esthetic services and spa related business courses.
I have been looking over the information on the summit in Jaipur and would like to find out more information about the workshops and presentations. Would it be relevant for a college administrator to attend?
Regards,
Avril Carnovale
Hi Susie,
This is excellent news and great visibility. We recently did a white label for “trilogy spa ventures” as well. Traction is growing slowly but surely. Let me know when you like to discuss other capabilities we can add to the site to enhance engagement. I look forward to the upcoming India summit.
